Remember the Biblical story of the brass serpent? The Israelites were suffering from bites from venomous snakes and their leader was instructed by God to put up a brass serpent on a pole. The instructions for anyone bitten by a poisonous snake was to look up at the post and they would receive healing. Well, you can guess that many balked at the idea and said it didn’t make scientific sense… And then they died in their cynicism.
I don’t know all the details of that prescription. Maybe the post was located somewhere offsite and the descent there would have been therapeutic for that particular type of bite. Maybe the act of looking up towards the location of the pole would have required them to get in a position that elevated their body a certain way. I have no idea. There aren’t enough details on the story.
THE PRINCIPLE OF THE STORY is that the solution seemed so unsophisticated by the Israelites’ standards that they didn’t even bother to try it out and see if it worked.
And this brings me to today’s post.
For months– MONTHS– since March 28th on Facebook alone, I have shared what medical research has found so far in one simple solution against viruses. I shared it as a favor. Sharing good news. Factual news. Medical news.
UNFORTUNATELY, IT WAS A SIMPLE SOLUTION.
And that was reason alone for it to be mocked and overlooked by many who proclaimed to be in support of science. This has been extremely disturbing to me. Good people who have the intention to help others would not even look at what science has discovered. It is one thing to look and say “I disagree”, but another thing altogether to say “I won’t even look to see if there is any truth here.”
I have many-many-many friends who are doctors, nurses, and physicians assistants, and several of them have been clear that my sharing is “dangerous” and “irresponsible”. As much as I love and respect them, I find it dangerous and irresponsible to ignore scientists who have established their results, some for much longer than my friends have been medical professionals. (To be totally transparent, a few others did later thank me for sharing and had adopted these additional measures, so that was nice to hear.)
For this reason, it is up to YOU and every single one of us to take care of our health. Never will an overburdened, immensely lobbied medical system be able to give you a customized preventative health plan. They can’t. Every single doctor I’ve talked to has said they do not have the time to keep up on all the latest medical research. But I digress.
Here, I will share again one of those findings I referred to earlier this year.
*(If you feel like seeing the science yourself, research the National Library of Medicine online.)
Reishi mushroom and agarikon mushroom contain polysaccharides.
According to published studies, polysaccharides BLUNT THE PROTEIN SPIKES ON VIRUSES. (The spikes are how they connect with human hosts.) This means that if a virus makes its way into your body, polysaccharides blunt/disarm it and the impotent virus just floats around waiting for your immune system to chop it up and dispose of it. That’s it. Brass serpent on a pole.
As soon as I learned about it, I went about locating these mushrooms. This tool is just one reason why our family has no fear about being around people who are sick with viruses. Even with me still healing from adrenal fatigue and auto immune symptoms, I can dis-arm viruses. Our family has been exposed to viruses all the year long, even to The One the Media is in Love With Right Now. And guess what? No complications. Nada.
The biggest problem though is that polysaccharides are not common knowledge because:
1) their purchase isn’t covered by conventional health insurance
2) they can be expensive for some families ($50 for 30 servings at health food stores)
3) pharmaceutical companies have a hard time claiming a patent and mass-profiting from you ingesting concentrated polysaccharides
If you are interested in blunting the pesky little spikes on a virus, simply add 1 teaspoon concentrated reishi or agarikon into a smoothie on the daily. #easypeasy Both mushrooms are extremely potent and bitter and you will regret tasting them on their own. 😝
Psst…
Consult your medical caregiver when considering some herbs and supplements, especially if you are on medication or are pregnant. For example, reishi mushroom may increase the risk of bleeding if you are using anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
